SLOW FLOW MOVEMENT WITH AWARENESS

A Feldenkrais Movement® class live on Zoom

→ with a recording to download & keep

Fri 7th March / 2pm UK time / Online on Zoom / Pay what you feel

Calling York-based women with a York postcode! Try out this gentle somatic class for a body and mind re-set.

It is perfect for beginners including with limited energy levels or working with injuries*. Movement teachers love it too. As do mindfulness fans.

What You Get

  • Quick 3-5 min intro about Feldenkrais Movement® as a somatic practice & what that means!

  • 45-min live Zoom lesson → gentle, beginner-friendly sensory slow flow movement session, lying down in your own cosy space

  • 10-15 mins → live Q&A…get your questions answered - how about if you have challenges? who can do this? how to practice on your own? what does it improve?

  • I send you an audio recording to download & keep. Great if you can’t attend the live class or for ongoing practice

Simple Moves in This Lesson Should Help You To…

  • Soften stiff shoulders

  • Relieve a stiff or cranky neck

  • Calm any headaches or eye strain

  • Dissolve excess tightness in your back

  • Feel relaxed & loose to move with more ease & joy

  • Experience deep calm & inner peace

Easy Steps to Lasting Change

With practice and familiarity, these slow flow mindful movement lessons can form a primer for easier movements top to toe.

  • You lie down on your mat or rug (with any props you like) to get comfy

  • You listen to me talk to guide you. You don’t need to watch the screen

  • I guide you to tune into yourself - with a starting body scan

  • We will do the same at the end, so you can feel the changes in yourself

  • We do small easy movements with lots of pauses & rests

  • We build up the movements step by step, to become more skilful

  • You let go off excess muscular stiffness & tension that otherwise acts as a brake on enjoyable fluid movement

  • You increase your proprioception. You get to sense yourself in detail & know more accurately where your body & limbs are in space.

  • Translation → you get better at effort-free co-ordination - for daily movements, hobbies or sports!

*For beginners & to cultivate a beginner’s mind

If you have challenges, drop me an email. We will work out a way to keep you comfortable and happy in class. We can use props, alternative positions and other variations.

Note that a beginner's mind, is a concept from Zen Buddhism. It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions.
