A Feldenkrais Movement® course of classes live on Zoom with recordings to download & keep

4x Saturdays / 5th - 26th July / 10:00 UK time

Mindful sensory-movement lessons…to move effectively, with gentleness & ease. Beginner-friendly & suitable for returning students keen to develop their movement & awareness further.

Each Week

  • 45-min live Zoom lesson → gentle sensory slow flow movement session

  • 10-15 mins → live Q&A, chat with peers

  • Each lesson can stand alone or come to the whole course for a fuller embodied experience & a downloadable audio version of the lesson to keep

  • Use the download if you can’t attend the live class or for ongoing practice

Movements We Will Explore in Class

Refine your vital sense of balance with these slow-flow sensory/movement Feldenkrais lessons.

Feel safe, stable and grounded. Have a sound home base from which to move with ease in any direction. Adapt dynamically to do what you want & move where you will.

These lessons will continue to form a primer for easier movements top to toe. Although we will sense how all our moving parts are connected, we will be exploring:

  • Knowing where we are in space, so we can find our neutral home base – a place where we can be at rest

  • Feeling how we can stack our weights over the ground, in any position, so we are supported by our bones and the floor

  • Breathing with flexible ribs to allow for easy walking and turning while the head rides free and calm

  • The role of soft eyes to manage our focus near and far, to relax our whole self & to integrate with our vestibular system

  • You only want the 4 guided movement lessons as audio downloads to keep so you can choose when to do the lessons

  • Each lesson is around 40-50 minutes, including introductory body scan, slow gentle build-up exploring movement patterns from simple to more involved, many interludes to rest and reset, a review body scan

  • Each download will be emailed to you the day after the live Zoom class each week

  • How to use these recordings

    • Prep your comfy space (this could even be bed)

    • Grab a few folded towels or cushions as props (I will guide you how within the lesson)

    • Lie down, press play, listen to my voice and follow along with your own sensory-movement adventure

    • If time is short, use a short segment of a longer lesson

    • Re-do the lesson more than once. I promise you will have new discoveries each time

What Happens in Class - Nuts & Bolts?

  • Live sessions on Zoom (60 mins each) → the 45-minute lesson followed by optional Q&A with discussion

  • If you book the whole course, you get downloadable audio versions of the lessons to keep & use as many times as you like

  • For all ages & abilities, even with pain, injury, fatigue or anxiety

  • Mostly lying down - with a big focus on how to maximise your comfort & receptivity

  • Once we start, you listen to my voice guide you → you follow along, moving as I describe for you → you don’t have to look at the screen

  • Each lesson is an exercise in curiosity, novel movement exploration and ease → surprisingly, this helps you to move with more skill and less effort than before

  • If you have a challenge we can talk before the course starts to figure out a bespoke plan for you & your situation

Do I need any special kit?

No.

  • Warm, loose clothes

  • A mat or rug to lie on

  • A couple of small towels or pillows for optional padding

  • A phone, tablet or computer connected to the internet, so you can click on the Zoom link I send you to join the class → there is no charge for using Zoom
