In Awareness through Movement® mat classes and workshops, learn to move with flow and still your mind.
You are guided (with words) to tune into your body and dive into your sensations, while doing gentle movement sequences - lying down, sitting or standing. Lessons adopt a softly, softly approach, immersing you in the moment, mindfully.
Some lessons explore familiar movements; others are more adventurous. Some are fairly still, others more dynamic. I choose from hundreds of different lessons, so you won’t be bored.
You learn with curiosity and comfort, taking cues from your senses. You try out new and forgotten movement patterns while feeling new sensations. New neural pathways are formed in the sensory and motor nervous systems. At the same time, you start to let go of tension, tightness and strain. Bit by bit you improve and your options open up. You have more skill, ease and effectiveness in your actions - everyday or special ones for sport, work or pastimes.
All ages and abilities are welcome; sessions are for everyone. Let me know if it is tricky for you to get up and down from a mat as I can offer accessible variations. Expert movers can learn new things about themselves and their ways of moving. Class sizes are small for individual attention and plenty of space to move.
Both studios for weekly classes and workshops are light and airy, with mats and props provided. Just come in comfy clothing you can move in; no tight waistbands. You are welcome to bring your own mat, blanket or props.

Each half-term I develop a theme. If you come to each class you have the chance to enjoy all the steps
You can swap to a different day if you can’t make your usual class - just let me know so I can check there is space
I teach in ‘half-terms’ of around 4 - 7 weeks, with a week or two off when the studios are closed. You don’t have to come every week. Just book a block for the number of classes you can attend that half-term
